Photinia Red Robin is one of the most popular options for hedging out there at the minute due to its hardiness and fantastic colour of new foliage.

Young foliage is a bright red colour and as it gets older it turns to a deep glossy green, it holds on to this colour throughout the year.

To optimize the length of time your plant is covered in red it is best to prune it back in spring to get colour through the summer, then in early august prune again to encourage more new growth.

It can be easily kept at 5-6ft. Can also be grown into specimen plant.

Planting instructions :-

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep watered during the plant’s first year.
