Acer ‘Crimson King’ is a fast growing tree that gives abundant crimson purple foliage right up to autumn before the leaves fall off.
While it is fast growing it can easily be kept at a certain size by simply pruning once a year in early spring before new growth starts.
It forms a perfectly round crown and can look quite well either planted on its own or along side Acer drumondii.
